    1. I live a half an hour from the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is definitely stunning in the fall. However, Washington, D.C. is only an hour and a half away and tons of people head there to see the leaves. We don’t even attempt to go anymore because it’s one big traffic jam. The overlooks are so crowded you can’t pull over to enjoy the spectacular views. You would be better off to pick a less-known location to view the leaves at one of the other Virginia State parks.
