    2. If you wrapped a cloth around the pipe with all the holes, could you then just fill the bed up with potting soil and do away with the rocks? I am thinking about the weight factor of rocks in a larger elevated bed. Also, given the barrier between the rocks and the soil, I don’t understand how the soil will wick up the water from the rocks once the water level is no longer in physical contact with the barrier/soil.
