For decades I’ve been wondering about homesteading. And my first question has been: Where do I find land that I can homestead? Because I always thought that homesteading meant to develop a home on land that hasn’t been developed before, and is available for the taking. I understand that there are over 300 million people in America. However, when I began to look at your 12 questions, the first thing that came up was something about purchasing the land. And immediately I’m thinking “…that’s not homesteading, that’s buying a piece of land and building a home on it.” So my first question is still: “Are there places where a person can move onto, and homestead, without the initial purchase?” That’s my question. What’s your answer?
